(Compliments of Jill @ Breaking the Spine)
It allows bloggers to feature pre-publication
books that they are eagerly anticipating!

This weeks selection is a book I have personally been waiting on for QUITE a long time...  but I really enjoy books that are told from multiple different characters points of view!!!

Party
by Tom Leveen
Release Date:  April 27, 2010
Random House Books for Young Readers
Pages:  240
ISBN-13: 978-0375864360

From Amazon.com:

It's saturday night in Santa Barbara and school is done for the year. Everyone is headed to the same party. Or at least it seems that way. The place is packed. The beer is flowing. Simple, right? But for 11 different people the motives are way more complicated. As each character takes a turn and tells his or her story, the eleven individuals intersect, and reconnect, collide, and combine in ways that none of them ever saw coming.

Teaser Tuesdays

(Compliments of MizB @ Should Be Reading)

Here's what you're asked to do:
  1. Grab your current read...
  2. Let the book fall open to a random page...
  3. Share two teaser sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12...
  4. Share the title of the book that the “teaser” comes from ~ so people can find the book if they like the teaser...
And remember – AVOID SPOILERS!!!

Here's Mine:

The moment a cleric rises for a sermon is, for me, a time for the body to ease in, as if the good listening is about to start.  I had always done this with the Reb, and, out of habit, I slid down in the wooden pew as the organist held the last chords of "Amazing Grace."

(courtesy of Janet at Friday Fill Ins)
1. No, we will NOT be opening Christmas presents early.
2. I remember eating dinner at the old kitchen table.
3. I watched the steam rising from the hot cup of coffee (or tea) and thought: I was right...  I knew I didn't like hot beverages.
4. No matter what happens...  I'm going to be okay.
5. I'll take Robert Pattinson...  you can have Taylor Lautner.
6. It looks like snow... at least from my point of view.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching TV and reading, tomorrow my plans include wrapping Christmas presents and Sunday, I want to finish it all up!

After the last book in this sequel left me hanging.... BIG TIME....  and my obsession with the TV show....  I cannot wait for this one!!!

The Vampire Diaries: The Return:  Shadow Souls
L.J. Smith
Release Date:  March 16, 2010
HarperTeen
Pages:  608
ISBN:  978-0061720819

From ljanesmith.net:

A kinder, gentler Damon, a heart-torn Elena, and a roadtrip that leads--literally--into Hell. What more could you want on vacation with your best friends? The catch: even to get in you have to wear a dog-collar and be considered the slave of the vampire that brings you. Suddenly Damon learns what it's like to have three wives at once. Meanwhile Stefan is languishing in prison, dependent on Elena's dreams to keep him from dying. Plus, quite a twisty ending, if I do say so myself.
